In honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
let us praise God from age to age.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia!

This hymn can be sung to the tune used for
The Glory of These Forty Days
O’er all creation’s realm you reign
As queen, O Virgin without stain;
In grace abounding you appear
Endowed with beauty of the sphere.
Before his throne, who all things made,
You shine supreme, with light arrayed,
Predestined God the Son to bear
Who fashioned you with tender care.
In Christ raised high upon the Tree
Our all-victorious King we see.
And you who in his Passion shared
Are Mother of mankind declared.
Endowed with heaven’s favor rare,
Protect us in your loving care.
Accept the grateful hymn we raise
To offer you our heartfelt praise.
Psalm 45:11-18
I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne, as I myself first won the victory and sit with my Father on his throne. (Rv 3:21)
Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, is the figure of the Church, spouse and mother brought to fulfillment in Christ.
Listen, O daughter, give ear to my words:
forget your own people and your father’s house.
So will the king desire your beauty:
he is your lord, pay homage to him.
And the people of Tyre shall come with gifts,
the richest of the people shall seek your favor.
The daughter of the king is clothed with splendor,
her robes embroidered with pearls set in gold.
She is led to the king with her maiden companions.
They are escorted amid gladness and joy;
they pass within the palace of the king.
Sons shall be yours in place of your fathers:
you will make them princes over all the earth.
May this song make your name for ever remembered.
May the peoples praise you from age to age.
Glory to the Father….
Word of God. Hosea 2:18-19
I will espouse you to me forever:/ I will espouse you in right and in justice,/ in love and in mercy;/ I will espouse you in fidelity,/ and you shall know the Lord.
Behold, your mother. (Jn 19:27)
Canticle of Mary
Let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and to find grace for timely help. (Heb 4:16)
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices in God my Savior
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.
From this day all generations will call me blessed:
the Almighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his Name.
He has mercy on those who fear him
in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm,
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones,
and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory to the Father…

Virgin most prudent, whither have you gone forth,
shining as exceedingly as the dawn?
Daughter Zion, you are all beautiful and sweet,
lovely as the moon, bright as the sun.
Translated by James Monti
Salve, Regina, mater misericordiae;
vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra, salve.
Ad te clamamus, exsules filii Evae.
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
in hac lacrimarum valle.
Eia ergo, advocata nostra,
illos tuos misericordes oculos
ad nos converte.
Et Iesum, benedictum fructum ventris tui,
nobis post hoc exsilium ostende.
O clemens, O pia, O dulcis Virgo Maria.
Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve.
To you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, O most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile
show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
V/ Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,
R/ That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
